Bitter cold for Thursday and Friday. Wintry weather possible tonight, and again Friday night into Saturday. Hazards: Cold: Highs on Thursday and Friday will range from the teens in the Poconos and northern NJ to the 20s across southeastern PA, NJ and Delmarva. Lows Thursday night will range from single digit to low teens, with the coldest conditions expected in the Poconos, and warmest conditions in the urban areas as well as coastal locations. Wind Chills: Thursday, as low as 5 below in the Poconos; 5 to 10 above across NJ and southeastern PA; and from 10-15 above across the Delmarva. Thursday night and Friday morning, minimum wind chills will be as low as 10 to 15 below in the Poconos, from 5 below to 5 above across central and southern NJ, southeastern PA, and the Delmarva. Wind: Strong NW winds 15-25 MPH with frequent gusts of 35-45 MPH will develop early Thursday morning through Thursday night. Locally higher gusts are possible.
Snow: A period of snow is likely tonight, mainly between midnight and 4 am across portions of Delmarva and southern NJ. Around an inch of snow may accumulate for some areas. On Thursday, snow squalls are possible, mainly along and north of I-78. Visibilities may be locally reduced to less than a mile and a quick half inch to an inch of snow may accumulate.
Ice: There the potential for freezing rain Saturday morning and continuing into the afternoon for areas north and west of the I-95 corridor. If it occurs, this could result in a light coating of ice, especially on elevated surfaces.
